Battery powered electrically driven vehicle - has wind driven generator on vehicle roof to keep battery charged

The battery driven car (1) has a wind driven generator (3) mounted on the roof. The generator is driven by a variable pitch propeller (4) and is enclosed in a streamlined housing (6). The assembly is mounted on a pivoting support (11). The propeller (4) is protected by a deflector (13) which creates the effect of a venturi. The current from the generator is fed to the battery (15) housed in the boot of the vehicle. The device increases the range of battery driven vehicles as the batteries are charged when the vehicle is moving and also when the vehicle is stationary if there is a favourable wind. To reduce wind resistance when the generator is not required it can be mounted so that it can be retracted inside the vehicle.
