Rapidly disintegrating griseofulvin tablets - using cross linked polyvinyl pyrrolidone as disintegrant

Use of cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone as a deaggredating agent in tablets contg. a dispersion of griseofulvin in polyethylene glycol is new. The presence of cross-linked PVP not only improves the speed of disintegration in the digestive fluids but insures rapid dissolution of the griseofulvin. Pref. tablets contain 20-25% w/w of PVP. They may be made by dry or wet granulation.
