Foamed aliphatic polyamine contg. metal carbonate as blowing agent - giving low density prod. for dishes, or as construction material

A foamable compsn. contains (a) an aliphatic polyamide and (b) as blowing agent, 0.2-10 (0.4-3)wt. % of a (basic) carbonate of Zn, Fe or Cu. The foams, with density 0.9 (0.7)g./cc, can be used for dishes or plates, or as construction materials. The pref. polyamide is polyhexamethylene adipamide (I). The relative viscosity is partic. 25-65 (30-45) but may be up to 250. ZnCO3 is pref. used.
