Solar radiation collector for swimming pool heating - is used as surface insulator when pool is not used

A solar heating system for a swimming pool jas a collector panel (10) formed from two plastics strips welded together to form an endless band (2) with a sealed space within it. The upper part of this band runs round the top and bottom sides of a solid support slab (12). A loop (17) of the hand is allowed to dip into the pool. The solid slab is erected outside the pool at an angle at which the upper surface receives maximum solar radiation. The endless band is filled with a heat transfer fluid heated by the radiation, and set into gravity circulation. When the pool is not in use the slab is laid flat and floats on the surface of the water.
