The implement (56) incorporates a compartment (54) which can move between a picking up position when the load of soil or compost is picked up, and a discharge position. The mechanism (38, 40) moving the compartment between its two positions consists of two parallel plates (48, 50) horizontally above one another with a space in between for the discharge position. The two plates (48, 50) move towards each other, so that a block is unloaded from the compartment (54) by moving the underneath plate (50). The block is deposited on a platform (96, 98, 100, 102) when the top plate (48) is moved. The top plate incorporates back end plate (56). A compactor (84, 86) for the soil is positioned inside a filler hopper (66). At the end of the hopper (66) nearest the ground, is a cover plate (64). The compartment (54) is mounted on pivot bearings (38) with pivot axle (36). Hydraulic cylinders (80, 82) operating the discharge implement move independently of one another.
