Bolt adapter for fitting in C-section rail - has serrations under head and adjoining thread fitting sole plate with right angled parallel wings

The special bolt (6) and an adapter (3) are used to attach components to the C-section rail (2). The bolt (6) has a short length of axial serrations immediately under the head (11) and a second length of serrations adjoins the threaded end (9). The adapter (3) consists of a sole plate (4) with two parallel wings (7) bent at right angles. When the bolt (6) is fitted into the adapter (3) the serrations prevent any relative rotation. The assembly of bolt and adapter is fitted into the slot in the C-section rail (2) with its long dimension aligned with the slot. The assembly is then rotated through 90 deg. and pulled downwards so that the edges (7') of the wings (7) bite into the edges of the flanges (8) of the C-section (3).
