Corner reinforcement for fibreboard case - has sides at right angles and inner rib and spikes to hold notched and folded corner flaps

The reinforcement is moulded from plastic and used on the corner of a fibreboard case to facilitate its assembly. The case blank has each corner notched, the flaps being folded up and held behind a central inner rib (2); spikes grip the base of the case. The reinforcement has sides (3, 4) at 90, forming two sides of a truncated triangle (1a, 1b, 1c). The bottom (5) is rebated inside the sides. The projecting portions (3a, 4a) form feet, enabling the case to be stacked. The inner rib is attached to the flat top (1), its lower end being free and terminating in a spike (11) above those (10) on the bottom.
