Automatic switching from vocal command is used to release targets for sporting or competitive shooting. Adjustment is available to ensure equitable distribution automatically for a number of shooters. At each shooting base is located a microphone connected to a switching unit. Signals are calibrated to provide uniform duration for application to conditioning and validation circuits and to memory circuits. A pulse generator issues programme advance pulses when the final memory reaches a stable state. This pulse increments an address counter for a programmed memory whose output is decoded to select shooting station and microphone. It also causes a launch switch unit to issue firing signals.
