A corner joint for furniture panels is formed by making a hole in one panel to receive a plastic bush (10) with a serrated surface (13). The bush (10) has a tapped hole (14) for a bolt (15) which has a shank (2) and head (5) of equal diameter separated by a neck (4). The second panel has a hole perpendicular to its edge which intersects a hole (20) perpendicular to the surface (21). The head (5) of the bolt projects into the hole (20) and is secured by a clamping bush with a square central hole (6), and a radial slot. The edges (8) of the slot form wedges which grip the undersurface of the bolt head (5).
