The signal sampling device includes a correction circuit and employs a storage capacitor (2) with the capacitor charge modified via a gating network (1), so as to be a function of the instantaneous value of the signal being sampled. The correction circuit comprises a compensation device for the capacitor charge, for increasing the charge in dependence on the charge carried by the gating network (1) and the efficiency factor of the sampling device. The compensation is provided by an active dipole (3) coupled across the storage capacitor (2), e.g. providing an exponential compensation as a function of time.
