A telecommunication system establishes a liaison between a number of mobile stations, e.g. vehicles equipped with radio telephones and a number of fixed stations, esp. normal telephone network subscribers, through the intermediary of a sub network of stationary relay posts. The sub-network of stationary relay posts is connected to a central exchange post and each relay has its own localized field of receptivity the fields together define the total area within which mobile stations may communicate with the master network. Transmission of coded messages from any mobile station through the central exchange is preformed by the intermediary of the relay station in whose field of sensitivity the mobile station is situated at the moment of transmission.
