The system is designed to provide for the physiological and psychological needs of animals, particularly domestic animals. Programmable machines will provide feed and drink at appropriate times from a reserve held in a refrigerated atmosphere. Sound reproduction apparatus will provide sounds whether audible or inaudible to the human ear. Apparatus such as aerosols or blocks will provide odours which are sensible to the animal but which may not be detectable by humans.
