A handkerchief comprises two layers of absorbant material such as tissue paper laminated by a waterproof interlayer of flexible material such as a film of thermoplastic or fusible material, e.g. polyethylene, PVC, paraffin wax or glycerine grease. The layers may only be melt bonded at selected points or lines, opt. in a decorative pattern. The handkerchief is more durable and more pleasant to use than tissue handkerchiefs which are permeable by moisture and not positively bonded.
