The slide magazine has a certain number of compartments arranged one behind the other all of which are open on one side. The magazine has at least a separation piece at one end which ensures that there is a fixed distance between it and a preceding or following magazine in the guide channel of a projector. The thickness of the distance piece or spacer (12) is such that between the end face of one magazine and the front face of the other a gap is formed. The width of this gap is such that a slide can be inserted in it. Thus the separate ends (4, 5) of each magazine together with the spacer (12) form a slide compartment.
