Moccasin-type shoe assembly process - involves machine stitching upper to separate top part before joining together remainder of shoe

The process is for assembling a moccasin of the semi-integral type, without an inner sole in the front part. The upper(1) has two side pieces(2) and a heel piece(3). The upper edge of the upper(4) is assembled to the edge(5) of the top(6) of the shoe by sewing by machine and forming a protruding edge(7). This edge extends all round the toe portion of the shoe. These parts are assembled before the rest of the upper is joined together. This is done by joining two flaps in the median axis of the foot, using a zig-zag machine stitch in the usual way.
