The celestial glove (1) is of the type which includes a system designed to present the stars and other astronomical data in illuminated form. The globe has an envelope of spherical shape which is formed from a transparent sheet of material. the glove being held on a support. An illumination system is designed to direct the light from the inside of the globes envelope so that it is practically transmitted to all parts of the sheet by total reflection. On at least one face of the globes sheet envelope are reference points indicating stars and other astronomical data when the surface is illuminated by the reflected light. The globe consists of two hemispheres connected along a universal meridian plane passing through the illumination system. the reference points may be formed on the internal face of the envelope or on its external face. In the latter case the internal face has a dark covering.
