Support structures for oil rig flare stacks - using various arrangements of beams and semi-submersible floats

The support structures are for installations outside of marine platforms eg. flare stacks joined to oil rigs. In this particular application the pipe to the stack is maintained in a horizontal position. It is supported by means which are not dependent on the depth of the water, ie they do not rest on the sea bottom, except for necessary anchorage points. The structure comprises a horizontal beam supporting the pipe, one end being joined to the rig and the other end supporting the stack. The beam is supported by one or more semisubmersible floats. The connection between the beam and the platform is one which allows the necessary articulation. The use of the structure is not limited by the depth of the water. The stress on the platform is reduced.
