The machining station has a multiple tool-magazine of circular plates (35-37) mounted on a common axle (38), the tools being mounted in receivers (52). The station has a rotating tool-holding spindle (5) on a slider (4). The axle (38) of the magazine is perpendicular to the axis of the spindle (5). Tools are transferred from the magazine by a pick-up slide (75) acting with a double tool-change arm (76). The slide (75) is equipped to pick up a receiver (52) from a plate (35-37) and to pivot until the tool axis is parallel to that of the spindle (5). The arm (76) then pivots to effect the exchange. The slide (75) moves along a rail (84) which is parallel to the magazine axle (38) and adjacent to the perimeters of the plates.
