Pharmaceutical or dermopharmaceutical compositions containing elastine, are new. They are used in the treatment of wounds, burns, sores and all cutaneous disorders necessitating metabolic reconditioning of dermal and epidermal cells. E.g. 0.1 ml of 5% soluble elastine instilled onto the lower eyelid shown no signs of irritation at any time up to 8 days later.
