The central heating unit designed to use either solid or liquid fuel, with automatic feed, also incorporates the hot water tank (13). The combustion chamber (2) for liquid fuel is alongside (3) for solid fuel. The tank and liquid fuel combustion chamber together occupy one side. They are all enclosed by a body of water (6) forming a heat exchange medium. This water also flows through the hollow tubes (7) forming the grate for the solid fuel. The two chambers communicate through a collar (8) between their adjacent sides. After passing through the collar, the combustion gases are directed downwards by a baffle (9). Rising gases then pass an upper water circulating grid (10) before entering the flue pipe (11).
