The correction strip (1) may unite several primary components (2) in a fixed geometric relationship. In a typical application the strip may be a gasket incorporating washers (2) and used to make a bolted shaft (6) coupling (5). The several washers (2) may be positioned in one operation. The components (2) may be built into the fabric of the strip and the assembly may be fabricated by a single moulding operation. The strip may be a continuous loop, may be a broken loop, or may have rupture hinges. It may have an undulating profile, deforming elastically to obtain a clamping effect in a joint.
