The tower (1) has at least one carrier cable connected between the ground and a point near the top of the tower. A trolley can roll along the cable and has means of attachment for a parachutist. The trolley (7) may roll along any of the carrier cables (8, 9, 10) to give different rates of descent. The trolley is connected to one end of a cable (6) which passes round a drum on top and has a counterweight at its other end. Rotation of the drum can be bracked. A jump may extend from each of the four sides of the tower.
