Lubrication oil flow monitoring system - has conductive float responsive to flow used to operate alarm

The flow monitor uses a float (8) acted on by the oil flow, to actuate an alarm if the oil flow ceases or flows badly. The float (8) is contained within a casing (1) inserted within the lubrication circuit between the latter and the oil supply line (2). It is made from conductive material to fall under its own weight into contact with two alarm contacts (12, 13) if the flow ceases etc. The casing (1) has a horizontal distribution channel (4) coupled to the oil supply line (2) and vertical distribution channels (5) leading off from it, each pref. containing a float (8) with the alarm contacts (12, 13) comprising two conductors extending along the length of the horizontal distribution channel (4).
