Super-cavitating mixed aerofoil for hydrofoil craft - has rounded leading and thinned trailing edge joined by upper and lower shoulders

The supercavitating mixed section aerofoil is used on a hydrofoil craft, and comprises a front portion (4) with a rounded leading edge (5). Also, a rear portion (6) with an extended thinned trailing edge (7). A shoulder (A) joins the two upper surfaces, a second shoulder (C) similarly joining the lower surfaces. Relative to the geometric chord (OB), the upper shoulder is 1/2 its length from the leading edge. Similarly, the lower shoulder is 2/3 the distance from the leading edge. The rear undersurface of the trailing edge is also parallel to the axis (Ox) of the aerofoil.
