The machine is used for tying bars and rods into bundles and comprises a single motorised reduction gear unit. This rotates in one direction to control the operations of picking up the wire, passing it around the bundle and tightening and twisting the wire. The gear unit then rotates in the opposite direction to release the ends of the wire. It also drives a screw and nut which controls the pair of articulated clamps. These tighten the clamps around the bundle, open the clamps and release the bundle.
