The parent patent described plastics bags with integral handles made by transverse welding of tubular thermoplastic film and then cutting the film alongside the weld and within the body of the bag to define the handles. This addition describes equipment for passing film between a chassis for supporting the film and a pivotted cover which, moving in response to a single handle, first presses the film against welding bars and then overcomes a spring to drive two mechanical cutters through the film to cut the end and the handle profiles respectively. The electrical components are all mounted in a drawer beneath the plane of the film so that the electrical parts can be withdrawn for adjustment or replacement without disturbing the mechanical cutters. Suitable for making either rectangular or 'vest' pattern bags, depending on the shape of the cutters mounted.
