The movable convering may be used on building frames of semi-circular arch cross section, retracts into a concertina form under gravity. The winch may be of the manual or the electric type and operates a grooved winding drum on the head of the frame. The building may be used to cover tennis court etc. A horizontal axle may traverse the heads of teh cross-frames and may have a winding drum connected by a cable to a winch on a gable wall. Secondary winding drums accept cables from pairs of covers allocated to each inter-frame bay.
