Letter box, designed for blocks of flats or similar places where the receipt of mail needs to be guaranteed against theft, is made of two plastics, e.g. polypropylene or other thermoplastic, sections. The front section comprises a hole for the mail, which has an inner flap consisting of adjacent, separate sections. Inside and below the hole are flexible, plastic strips sloping downwards to prevent fraudulent extn. of post. An access door has a lock, and a horizontal hinge along the bottom. The box is made of translucent plastic, so that the presence of mail can easily be seen. A system of outside grooves fit into fixture pieces for identical boxes to be placed side by side and on top of one another.
