Open fireplace for domestic heating - has tanks and coil rising inside chimney breast to heat water for supply to radiators

An open fireplace has a water tank (1) below the grate (9) on which coal or wood is burnt. A flow pipe connects the tank (1) with a second tank (2) fixed at the back of the hearth. A coil of pipe (3) rises from the second tank inside the chimney breast and leaves the fireplace through the side of the breast. The water leaving the coil is circulated to hot water radiators and returns from them into the first tank (1) below the fire. The front of the hearth can have hinged doors so that the fireplace is converted into a closed boiler when they are shut.
