A stencil for electrochemical marking of a support with lattice structure made of a material which is inert w.r.t. the electrolyte used, and is partic. of polyester material with 120-160 mesh/cm. The electrolyte can pass through the support but only under the action of electric current. The support is impregnated with a photosensitive resin, and the impregnated support is radiated through a negative reproducing the design to be marked. The non-exposed parts are eliminated by suitable solvents. The mechanical strength, durability, and storage stability of this stencil are better than the corresp properties of pre-senstised paper stencils currently used.
