Slabs used for making the surface of a tennis court or a similar surface are made by moulding a compsn. contg. (a) pref. 25 wt. % of a polyurethane resin; (b) pref. 20 wt. % rubber granules, size 0.5-5 mm; (c) pref. 40 wt. % river sand with granule size of 0.8-5 mm; and (d) pref. 10. wt. % of silica. The compsn. can also contain pref. 5 wt. % anti-oxidant. An artificial court formed from these slabs has the qualities of a clay court. It combines elasticity and underfoot comfort with high resistance to wear.
