Air cushion vehicle for heavy loads - is compressor turbine driven and can suck air and dust out of the skirt chamber using pumps; used e.g. in nuclear power stations

The air cushion vehicle has a skirt designed to form a dynamically sealed chamber. Around the skirt periphery and at its base, the skirt is designed to suck in the air in the chamber and entrained dust. The air and dust are sucked from the chamber by a pump, the latter having a filter in its intake passage. The capacity of the pump is pref. greater than that of the cushion supply system the pump being driven by a turbine. The vehicle is designed to handle heavy loads in e.g. nuclear power stations.
