The coal plough and face conveyor arrangement has a coal plough mounted on one side of the conveyor (4) and pushed towards the coal face by rams with their piston rods (9) extending horizontally at the other side. The rams are housed in the floor member forming part of the support system with telescopic cylinders supporting the roof member. Between the conveyor and the piston rods is an assembly which permits the conveyor and plough to be tilted. This assembly is a vertical plate (15) attached to a block (11) at floor level, connected by a swinging lever (14). The plate can be swung by an actuator cylinder (19) attached to an upper bracket (22) on the plate and this block (11). The latter has a step (18) acting as a stop for the lever (14).
