The material to be powdered is fed continuously into the appts., where it forms a cylindrical column of material (a). The lower part of the column is made to rotate by a rotor in the shape of a truncated cone. The speed of the rotor is such that the pressure resulting from the vertical component of the centrifugal force exceeds the pressure exerted by the column. An active horizontal fine division zone (b) develops, with a variable speed gradient for the components of the material.
