摘要
Loom is of the type in which the weft is inserted by =1 projectile travelling continuously round a closed circuit. In one section of the circuit the projectile moves freely whilst in the other its motion is controlled. The projectile picks up a thread before it enters the shed and releases it at the exit. The circuit comprises two semicircular channels formed by two rotary disks, one at each side of the shed. These have grooves on their circumference in which the projectiles are drawn by the motion of the disks. There are also two straight channels one of which extends through the shed; the other beign formed by the return channel. The return channel is placed between the return disk and the inlet of the propulsion disk. It consists of two side walls and a space formed by a base through which the projectile can move. The propulsion and synchronisation of the projectile inside the return channel is effected by an endless belt positioned suitably relatively to the channel and having carrier blocks on its surface. The base and the walls forming the return channela re independent elemetns; the walls being fixed whilst the base between them is supported on springs. Arrangement prevents damage when a projectile due to braking action during its passage through the shed is put out of sequence with the loom mechanism. It then leaves the returning disk at an incorrect point of the cycle and may cause a blockage.
