The multimeter probe has a fusible part within its body (10). The fusible part (25) is inserted between the point (12) of the probe and the multimeter connection terminal. The probes body cannot be opened and therefore the fuse (25) cannot be substituted for or replaced by another. The probes body consists of two cylindrical inseparable half shells (10A, 10B) which envelope the probe point (12) and the connection terminal (17). Within the body is a neon lamp (32) in parallel with the fusible part between the probe point (12) and connection terminal (17). The probes body near to the neon lamp is thin so as to be translucid.
