The parlour game simulates a sport, such as football, tennis and the like, and is played with a set of cards divided into suits, with a common symbol or colour, and separate values. One "family" of cards is recognisable as a trump suit. Another family of cards is termed special, and denotes the various events in a real game, such as rules, refereeing, and such like. A board represents the pitch or court in miniature, and comprises indications. An object represents the ball, racquet or other implement with which the actual game is played.
