Multiplexing system in two-wire telephone subscriber network - allows independent subscribers to send data and voice signals via same two-wire telephone line

The multiplexing system allows two or more totally indpendent subscribers to use the same two-wire telephone line for digitally transmitting voice and/or data signals between subscriber terminals. This is accomplished using a D/A and A/D signal converter for each voice channel, a multiplexer between the two-wire line and the data and voice channels, a directional coupler to separate transmission directions, and a demultiplexer.
