An installation for heating the ends of plastics (esp. PVC) pipes for subsequent shaping into (connecting) sleeves, comprises a tubular casing (1) with a fan-wheel blower (2) for circulating air that has been heated by fixed heaters (17) at one end, and a circular opening (3) at the other end, for introducing a plastics pipe (5) into a heating chamber (4). There are at least two ducts (7, 12) for the passage of the air circulated by the blower, which open out into the heating chamber by an aperture (3). The first duct opens out at the outside of the tube (5) and the second duct at its inside. The heating chamber has an air discharge aperture (14) connected to a third duct (16) which opens out onto the axle of the blowing wheel.
