The cut out, suitable for protecting an electric motor from overheating, has a bimetal strip (33) incorporating an arm (25) with a slot (26) through its parallel sides through which passes the pivot pin (24), so that it can also slide. A spring (32) mounted at its top, bends around it so as to act against it vertically and horizontally. The locking system includes a lug (27) punched in the face of the arm, acting against an eccentric member (28). This eccentric portion is attached to a button (29) which can be rotated outside the casing.
