The rail setting indicator includes a first disc having a fixed position in space and at least a radial reference. The indicator has a second disc concentric to the first which is placed in a set position w.r.t. the yacht as a function of a certain parameter. The second disc has on it visible indications corresp. to the sail setting required. These indications are distributed as a function of one or several other parameters and are indicated by a radial reference mark on the first discn. The first disc is mounted on a magnetic bar which pivots freely on a practically vertical axis and forms a compass.
