The seeder has an agitator comprising a rotating plate(9) which is almost wholly located in a constant level seed box(5). The agitator is axially separated from a rotating disc(1) which has a circle of holes(4) adjacent its periphery and concentric with the shaft(10) through which the disc is driven by a ground wheel of the seeder. The holes are slightly smaller than the seeds. The plate(9) is mounted on a shaft(11) which takes its drive from shaft(10) so that the peripheral speed at the tips of plate(9) is equal to or slightly greater than that at the circle of holes(4).
