The crockery basket moves in and out of the wash container on runners (5). The basket is braced taut with its runners (5) by at least one spring clamp (7) which hooks into the runners (5) so that the side wall of the basket can be suspended from it. The spring clamp (7) comprises a curved resilient tension hoop having a moulded lower hook which hangs from the runner (5) and an upper ratchet which grips the wire grid of the crockery basket.
