A heat exchange combination partic. for liquefying gas, more specifically natural gas, incorporates plate type heat exchangers, connected in parallel. Each comprises metal plates forming with their seals passages of first, second, their and fourth types connected into circuits respectively for the circulation of a first and a second fluid, cocurrent, over the whole length of the body, a third fluid over a part of the length of the body countercurrent to the first and second fluids and a fourth fluid. A fourth type passage adjacent to a third type passage extends over another part of the length of the body and a partition separates the third and fourth type passages. The fluids are respectively a coolant mixt. to be cooled, a gas to be cooled, a coolant mixt. to be reheated and an auxiliary coolant to be reheated. The inlets and outlets of second type passages, the inlets of first type passages and the outlest of thrid type passages of the different heat exchangers are connected respectively to a second fluid feed main and discharge main, a first fluid feed main, a third fluid discharge main, in the same way as the inlets and outlets of teh fourth type passages are respectively connected to a fourth fluid feed main and discharge main.
