The composite structure comprises a metal girder, to whose top face a concrete slab is solidly fixed, being particularly for use as a platform, building floor etc. In the unloaded state of the slab, the girder (21) is elastically distorted in the direction opposite to that in which the load acts. This distortion can form a convexity towards the top between the two supports (1a, 2a) on which the girder rests. Its ends can also be curved inwards, and the slab can be secured to it by connectors hanging down from one of its flanges.
