The heater has a circular casing (1). Rectangular graphite electrodes (4) are placed vertically within the casing with a gap between them. They are connected to the positive and negative wires of a cable (5) entering the casing from the top. A water entry (18) in the base of the casing is connected to a flexible tube (3) which can be put onto any convenient tap. Water entering the casing is heated by direct conduction through it. It leaves the casing through a port (8) near the top which determines the level within the casing. The outflow rate is governed by an adjustable selector (7) on the discharge.
