The implantable heart pacemaker has a main pulse generator connected to the power source and with electrodes placed against the heart. Between the main generator and the electrodes is an auxiliary one, supplying sets of h.f. pulses to the heart, so that the number of heart contractions is equal to the number of sets of pulses fed to it. These pulses can be rectangular or nearly so, and their amplitude can be at least 10 times the pause amplitude.
