LUBRICATING OIL COOLING APPARATUS FOR STEAM TURBINE

PURPOSE:To obtain an economical lubricating oil cooling arrangment for a system provided with a prurality of oil coolers by instituting two four way switch values in an oil supply line so as to maintain a required oiling temperature even at a reduced speed after the turbine-shutdown. CONSTITUTION:During a normal operation, lubricating oil is oiled to a bearing from an oil pump 3 through a four way switch valve 15 via oil supply lines 5, 6 thus entering an oil cooler 1, where it is cooled, and thereafter passing oil supply lines 7, 8 via another four way switch valve 16. When valves 15, 16 are turned by 90 degrees so that a cooling water supply is shifted from a cooling water line 11 to 12, an oil cooler 2 is put under operation so as an oil cooler 1 may be used as a stand-by unit. After a turbine is shut down, and in a reduced speed operation, when the four way switch valve is turned by 90 degrees, supplying cooling water also for an oil cooler 2 which has been a stand-by unit, oil coolers 1, 2 having been connected in series for their oil lines, double their total cooling capacity as compared to that for the normal operation, and are capble of supplying the required lubricating oil of a low temperature and high viscousity.
