MANUFACTURING OF MODIFIED COAL FOR PRODUCTION OF METALLURGICAL COKE

PURPOSE:To suppress the thermal decomposition reaction of coal during carbonization precess, and to improve the qualities of the surface of a high-volatile non- caking coal, by using, as raw material of coke, a coal mixture obtained by heating a high-volatile non-caking coal and slightly caking coal under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A high-volatile, non-caking coal and a slightly caking coal are mixed together, and heated at 400-500 deg.C under pressurized atompshere or pressurized hydrogen atmosphere. The product is used as raw material of coke, optionally after mixing with aromatic bitumen. The primary contraction and the generation of heat decomposition product are suppressed, and the substrate of coal is improved to be suitable for the raw material of metallurgical coke.
