PURPOSE:To provide the title agent which is harmless to man and cattle, and applicable without environmental pollution, by using one or more compounds selected from K2SO3, Na2SO3, MgSO3, CaSO3, and (NH4)2SO3. CONSTITUTION:An agent for controlling blossom blight of apple, containing one or more compounds selected from K2SO3, Na2SO3, MgSO3, CaSO3, and (NH4)2 SO3. The content of the effective component is 10-90% and 10-60% as a wettable powder and paste, respectively. The composition may contain bentonite, diatomaceous earth, etc. as a carrier and other additives such as a dispersing agent, a surface active agent, etc. The agent can be applied efficiently, rapidly, with a few workers, by directly coating or spraying to the trunk, main branches, or diseased parts of apple trees. It is harmless to the apple tree.
